Description

We assume time to be a straight line of string going forward to the unknown but really time is a flat circle. Continuum depicts time in our hands, a female figure captures time in a glass bottle as you would a butterfly. Her beauty will fade eventually, so will possessions but she knows this and doesn't let the facade of cars and houses blind her from this truth. She clinches the bottle for its slippage and breaking will cast her time away and she will forget the truth of what is truly important; doing the best she can with the time she has.

Artist

Okunade Olamilekan

Okunade Olamilekan is a Nigerian visual artist whose work bridges tradition and modernity through bold colors, pixelated and intricate geometric patterns, and compelling storytelling. Deeply inspired by African heritage, his art explores themes of identity, culture, and societal evolution, often centering on the strength and resilience of women.

Through a distinctive visual language, Olamilekan blends abstract symbolism with figurative elements, creating compositions that evoke emotion and provoke thought. His use of vibrant hues and rhythmic patterns not only honors African artistic traditions but also reinterprets them for a contemporary audience. With each brushstroke, he seeks to spark dialogue, inviting viewers into a world where history, personal narratives, and modern experiences intersect. His work transcends aesthetics, offering a deeper exploration of the human experience.

Olamilekan’s art has been exhibited in various galleries and platforms, attracting collectors and enthusiasts drawn to his unique storytelling approach. As he continues to evolve, his mission remains clear, to create art that resonates, inspires, and leaves a lasting impact.
