Nostalgia of a Hidden Tranquility

Nostalgias of a Hidden Tranquility incites a sense of serene reminiscence of a man standing amidst a circle of women, each woman expressing a sense of empathy and concern towards the man, the man as the central figure was captured half naked to depict his vulnerability and him seeking solace in times of need. I captured the composition to show a silent dialogue of support and connection a man needs from the world that surrounded him, which I represented with women in the composition. The creative process of this piece resonates with my personal experience and my need to rely on women and people with values around me in my moments of vulnerability, powerlessness, and depression, which has helped me navigate my days through all the storms and tough times. My thought during those days of their selfless support was that life can not be lived alone, and as a man, I can also seek help and not “man it up' as society deems fit.
